A very rare painting by Kosan on handmade paper. This image is of a snow monkey in Hokaido. He was a pupil of Hoitsu. Born in Echigo. At an early age went to Edo where he learned the technique of Hoitsu, but later changed his style as he studied Chinese pictures of the Ming dynasty. Lived in Edo. Beautifly double framed and silk matted.
